The Lansinoh Signature Pro is one of those models that offer moms an effective and a budget-friendly solution to their milk expressing needs. One of its most outstanding features is that it gives moms a full control over the whole milk-expression experience, as it comes with three different pumping styles.

But this doesn’t make the pump complicated – it’s very easy to use it, as well as to assemble it and to keep it clean. It offers quite a good value for the money, so we’ll be taking a closer look at its handy features. Join us!

Features of Lansinoh Signature Pro

  • The Design

The Lansinoh Signature Pro is undoubtedly one of the lightest electric models that you’ll find today and comes with a unique tote bag for transporting and storing. This makes the device highly portable, and you’ll be able to carry it with you wherever you go.

We found that it packs nicely and that it’s easy to use it when you’re not at home. The fact that it can also be used with batteries makes this pump even more convenient, even though you’ll have to purchase six of them (6 X AAA).

  • The Assembly

When it comes to assembly, putting this model together is a piece of cake – it’s very straightforward and can be done by anyone. It’s easy to put it together and to take it apart, thanks to the well-written manual that comes in the package. Fortunately, the model comes pre-assembled, so moms will know how it’s supposed to look like before they sterilize it for the first time.

It’s essential to read this quick guide before you decide to use the pump, as it will tell you how to use it safely and correctly. Our testers were able to start using the model pretty quickly and they had no major complaints except one – it’s not possible to use other bottles with it if you don’t have an appropriate adapter.

  • The Comfort

The comfort is certainly one of the most important things when it comes to breast pumps – no matter how good their design is, no one will want to use them if they cause pain and discomfort. Fortunately, the Lansinoh Signature Pro causes no strain or distress and works just as advertised.

The ComfortFit Flange, which is a breast shield that comes in the package, certainly lives up to its name. It’s a 25-mm flange that feels very comfortable when pressed against a breast and allows painless and quick expression of milk. The company also offers bigger, 30.5-mm flanges, which can be purchased separately.

  • The Pumping

One of the best things about this model is that it provides moms with a highly customizable pumping experience. It comes with three different pumping styles (slow, moderate, and quick), and each of these methods features eight suction levels. This will allow you to easily find the setting that feels the most comfortable to you and is a feature that deserves only words of praise.

All of this is controlled via five simple buttons (plus/minus for suction, pumping style toggle, expression/let-down toggle, and on/off) that are situated around the practical LCD screen. We were quite pleased with the fact that this monitor comes with a special timer – it will show you for how long have you been pumping, which can come in quite handy at night.

Getting an airtight seal between the breast and the flange is easily done here, so there’s no need to worry about leaking. The same could be said for adjusting the suction level while you’re pumping, as well as for finding the level that feels the most comfortable. This pump is capable of fully draining the breasts, which is of crucial importance if you don’t want to end up with mastitis or blocked ducts.

This double electric pump can also be used in the single mode – one only has to disconnect a tube from the Y connector, and that’s it.

  • The Cleaning

This pump has been designed in a way that prevents the milk from entering into its tubing, which removes the risk of condensation. Unfortunately, this makes the model only partly dishwasher-safe – you’ll have to wash some pieces of it by hand, which isn’t that hard as there are not many of them.

  • The Noise

Our only major complaint about this pump is that it’s not particularly silent. While it’s working, it produces a sound that could easily wake up your partner or the baby during the night. We hope to see this fixed in the next revision.

What’s wrong with the product?

  • Requires an adapter for bottles not made by Lansinoh

Those who’d like to use their own bottles with this breast pump will be disappointed to find that they won’t be able to do that without a special adapter. It can be purchased separately.

  • Not the quietest electric breast pump

Unfortunately, the Chicco didn’t make the LATCH straps replaceable. This means that you’ll have to check out if the latches in your car are compatible with those of the car seat before you decide to make a purchase.

Conclusion

The Lansinoh Signature Pro is a real surprise package, as it offers enough portability, efficiency, and hygiene for us to call it one of the best devices of this type on the market. It’s not the quietest pump that the money can buy, but its other features are very impressive and turn this model into a pretty safe purchase. We like it!
