Good quality double strollers are usually expensive, that’s why most parents want them to be durable and last for a couple of years. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double certainly delivers in that field. It is also an ideal double stroller for everyday rides, running errands downtown, and it works great off-road as well.

This is a double model that won’t let your family down. It is multi-functional and children love it for its comfort. It comes as no surprise that the Baby Jogger City Mini GT double is one of the best selling double strollers on the market.

Features

  • Seats

The seats are padded with smooth fabric that makes the ride very comfortable for the little passengers. Each seat is equipped with a 5-point harness for the children’s safety. The weight capacity of each seat is up to fifty pounds. Maximum head height is up to twenty-six inches which is way above average for a double stroller. Some parents report using it with their five-year-old children, so the model is suitable for big kids as well. The seats are very spacious and feature long back rests.

To ensure maximum comfort, the seats are equipped with multi-position recline, including near-flat position. Since there is no fully-flat recline, the seats are not suitable for children under six months (unless used with a bassinet). There are also the seat back vents that you can uncover for extra ventilation – very convenient during summer walks.

Both seats come with infinite recline features and recline individually. That means that each child can sit in a different position and the recline can be adjusted to whatever angle the child wants. It must be noted that there is no completely upright position, as the most upright position is still a bit reclined (only a few inches).

  • Wheels

The stroller has all-terrain wheels that can take on harsher surfaces, aside from performing well in an urban environment. The front wheels lock for better stability over though terrain and swivel as well, providing better maneuverability.

The front wheels suspension takes care of bumpy paths and ensures that your children’s comfort is intact. Even though the wheels are somewhat small, they can handle debris, bumps, and cracks. They also roll well on grass, old sidewalks, cobblestone, gravel, and mulch.

  • Brake

Unlike most strollers, this model has a hand-operated parking brake, which sets it at an advantage. It is located below the handlebar, on the right side of the canopy. Thanks to this feature, you have complete control within arm’s reach, and it allows for comfortable and convenient steering.

  • Canopies

Each canopy is adjustable and has SPF50+ to protect your child from harmful sun rays. The canopies open and close individually, allowing one little passenger to nap, while the other is exploring the world around them. The canopies are large enough to protect the children’s eyes and legs at the same time.

You can use four peekaboo windows in total (two peekaboos on each canopy) the check upon your kids during your family strolls. The only downside to them is the noisy velcro closure. Magnetic closures are always preferred.

  • Handlebar

An adjustable handlebar is one of the best features a stroller can have. If the parents are of different heights, it allows both of them to use the stroller with ease and comfort. The handlebar rotates to higher positions to prevent wrist pain and hunching.

  • Travel System

Attaching one infant car seat is possible. The City Go Infant car seat is specially designed to be compatible with this particular double stroller. With a special adapter, you can use other infant car seat brands as well (the information can be found on the stroller’s Amazon page).

  • Weight, Size and Folding Mechanism

Considering that this is a double stroller that can be used on many kinds of terrain, it’s 32.6 pounds of weight are acceptable. However, some parents might have difficulties lifting loading it into their car, but it is doable. It is as wide as you would expect a side-by-side stroller to be, but it still fits through normal doorways.

The special, patented folding mechanism is the most notable feature of this model. To fold it, all you need to do is pull the straps between the seats and the buggy folds itself. Its folding mechanism is absolutely the best when it comes to double strollers.

What’s wrong with the product?

– Lack of accessories

It is shocking that such a high-end and heavy-duty stroller doesn’t come with more accessories. Even though one would expect that the accessories are included in the price, they are sold separately.

– Inadequate storage space

The storage basket is spacious, but it is divided with a bar. Even though the basket is large, you cannot even fit a medium diaper bag. However, you can use it for storing essential baby items, including a few diapers.

The bar also partially blocks access to the storage basket, stopping you from using it to its full advantage. Luckily, there are two extra pockets on the back that can be used for storing smaller items.

Conclusion

Most parents praise the City Mini GT double for its simple folding-mechanism, sturdy frame, excellent wheels, easy-to-adjust handlebar, convenient hand brake, near-flat recline, sizeable sunshades and individually reclining seats. It is a heavy duty stroller that is surprisingly easy to push and steer. This model is great for families with taller kids, older children, and infants.

This is a stylish and safe stroller made for all-terrain cruising. No matter if you are running errands around town or walking in the park, it is easy to operate even with passengers aboard. If you like city walks as well as off-road adventures, this model won’t disappoint you.
