The chicco lullago portable bassinet was made to be mobile and comfortable – and successfully so. Assembling the sleeper is very easy as it only takes snapping its legs into place – simple and quick. It’s a lightweight model but comes with a sturdy frame.

You shouldn’t have any problems carrying it around – it even comes with a convenient carrying bag that makes it even easier. The heading of the bassinet has a mesh opening on each side which ensures breathability, although it doesn’t do much for visibility. It still allows you to sneak a little peek inside.

Even though it is minimalistic, the design looks modern and has a sleek appearance. What surprises most parents is how compact the model is when folded, and how big it is when unfolded. The bassinet is equipped with a plush, brushed mattress pad that is exceptionally comfortable.

It is also very soft, and the cover of the mattress can easily be washed. Chicco advises parents to line dry all of the washable materials, so it wouldn’t hurt to get a replacement fitted sheet. Getting one might be a bit difficult, as some parents have pointed out, so you might need to buy one from the manufacturer.

The spacious interior is especially great as it deters any sense of claustrophobia. The bassinet is supported by legs that look thin, but are still quite sturdy. One of the best things about this model is its height – it is close to that of your average bed height, allowing you to relax right next to your little angel.

Features

Safety

There is a very good reason why Chicco is one of the most popular manufacturers of baby gear. It is said that this bassinet was manufactured by the highest safety standards and it has the means to prove it. The sleeper comes with the JPMA certified label which tells us a lot as it is a great, and independent certification.

The model has a sturdy build supported by robust metal legs. It won’t be moving around the floor as it has anti-slip feet. There are two mesh opening, one on each side. Unlike most travel bassinets, the sides are not entirely made of mesh. However, they do their job well as they secure extra airflow and breathability.

Comfort

This is an area where Chicco’s bassinet has a significant advantage over the majority of the competition. The sleeping area is bigger than that of your average portable bassinet. The mattress pad is pretty big itself. All of this means that the bassinet can be used for a bit longer. Still, make sure to transition your child into a crib once they are able to move on their own. The mattress pad comes with a nice zippered sheet.

It is very soft and comfy, but it needs to be hand washed, which is a bit inconvenient since babies love making a mess. Nevertheless, the sheet and the mattress are exceptionally comfortable which has been confirmed by many parents.

Ease of Use

Even though it is sizeable when in use, once folded, the unit is quite compact. The bassinet weights approximately seventeen pounds, which doesn’t make it the lightest bassinet around, but it is still light enough to be carried around with ease.

Another cool characteristic of the bassinet is its bed-level height. It allows you to place the sleeper right next to your bed and have a great view of your little one.

Performance

The excellent portability of the Cicco Lullago is probably its biggest advantage. You can take it with you practically anywhere. What makes this possible is the convenient and super easy assembly and disassembly process.

When you are not using it, you can easily stove it away thanks to the neat carrying case that comes with the package. All of the fabric on the bassinet is removable, which is great because, again, babies sure can be messy.

With its sizeable mattress and a weight limit of up to twenty pounds, it ought to serve your at least five months. Unless perhaps your baby is exceptionally big and a potential NFL or NBA star. Typically, bassinets aren’t intended for longer use, portable bassinets even less, so this is a nice advantage.

Price

Typically, the cost is something that is not an advantage when it comes to bassinets. However, the Chicco Lullago is quite budget-friendly, especially when compared to the rest of the competition. Considering that it’s packing a lot of features that many, more expensive bassinets do not come with, it is certainly worth the purchase. With the Chicco Lullago, you are getting more than you’re paying for.

What’s wrong with the product?

-Hand Wash Only

All of the fabric is easy to remove, but you’ll have to wash it with your hands. No matter how many replacement sheets you pile up, it won’t get any easier. Babies are prone to making a mess, more often than not, and this bassinet won’t make things easier on you in that regard.

To make matters worse, finding a replacement sheet is a bit difficult – according to some parents. Off-brand sheets are usually cheaper, but what’s the use if you can’t find one. You might need to order one from Chicco.

-Not Entirely Mesh

The area around the baby’s head is mesh, which is great, as it makes the bassinet safe and comfy, but basically, all the other models out there have sidewalls entirely made of mesh. It’s puzzling why Chicco didn’t go with that design.

Conclusion

This model is great for families who like to travel often. No matter where you are headed, the Chicco Lullago will make your job as a parent much easier. You can rely on it as a safe and comfortable sleep solution for your little one.
