The Graco LiteRider LX is the improved version of the company’s LiteRider model (without the LX). Designed for everyday use, this stroller focuses on the bare essentials, although it does introduce some nice features that turn it into a tempting offer.

Its main selling point is a low weight – LiteRider LX weighs only 16.85 pounds and is therefore very easy to transport and store. Moreover, the model accepts most of Graco’s infant car seats and can be transformed into a genuine travel system.

The model can accommodate children up to 50 pounds of weight and can be reclined into two positions. Both the 3-point and the 5-point harness can be utilized here, and there is also the one-hand fold mechanism that is so highly sought by parents. There is also a padded handlebar, the parent & child trays, four hard-rubber wheels, two rear-breaks, as well as the canopy with a peek-a-boo window.

Although not the most elaborate lightweight stroller on the market, the Graco LiteRider LX undoubtedly deserves a more in-depth look. In the following paragraphs, we’ll analyze its features and help our readers determine if it’s the right choice for their needs.http://lightweight stroller

Features

  • Fold

Fortunately, folding and unfolding this lightweight pushchair is an easy one-hand job. However, unlike many other strollers manufactured by Graco, this one doesn’t have a folded height that makes it easy to drag it behind you as you’re walking. When folded, the Graco LiteRider LX has a shape of a short, rectangular box, which means that carrying it is the only viable solution.

This comes with a significant advantage, though – the model’s compact fold makes it easy to store it in almost every car trunk. It’s a real space saver and an excellent choice for the parents who own smaller cars.

  • Seat

With a backrest height of 16″, this pushchair accommodates kids that are no taller than 43″ and not heavier than 50lbs. This means that most parents will be able to get at least a couple of years of use out of it.

Unfortunately, the model’s seat comes with a significant downside – it doesn’t recline flat. There are only two recline positions here, and they are all the way down and all the way up. The seat is very comfortable, however, and will undoubtedly provide your little one with excellent riding experience.

  • Canopy

The sunshade present on this stroller is of average size. It features a simple peek-a-boo window with mesh netting, which can be covered with the designated flap cover. One of the best things here is that it’s possible to combine this canopy with the canopy of the infant car seat – they can meet in the middle.

A mesh peek-a-boo window, on the other hand, is always a better choice than the plastic ones. The fact that it comes with a special cover deserves special words of praise, as there are too many models out there that don’t have it. It allows the parent to close the window during the windy and chilly days.

  • Wheels

Just like most of the other buggies of this type, the LiteRider XL also has four hard-rubber wheels that make it easy to push the stroller around. The wheel assembly is somewhat challenging, but at least they roll smoothly across all kind of surfaces – even the slightly bumpy ones.

However, avoiding rocky terrain is still advisable, as this pushchair was intended to be used only on pavement, mall floors, in parks, etc.

  • Brakes & Restraint System

Each of the model’s rear wheels has a plastic brake, both of which can be engaged whenever you want to park the pushchair safely. Furthermore, both of the front wheels have locks that, when engaged, make the stroller go in a straight line, which helps with maneuverability on bumpy surfaces.

As we mentioned in the intro, both the 3-point and the 5-point harness system can be utilized on this buggy. The 5-point one is always a safer option!

  • Handlebar & Footrest

The handlebar of Graco LiteRider LX has a good height range and is nicely padded for more comfortable pushing. However, there is just one height setting to play with – the handlebar is not adjustable.

The model’s footrest is also non-adjustable, as it is fixed to the frame. If you’re going to use this buggy with an older toddler, you might want to remove the footrest all together to give the kid a more comfortable ride.

  • Parent & Child Trays

The parent tray features two cup holders which aren’t that big and can’t accommodate larger cups and bottles. The cup holder located on the child’s tray is somewhat flimsy and not very deep, but it still serves the purpose and can be used for bottles and smaller snacks.

What’s wrong with the product?

– Can’t stand upright on its own

Unfortunately, this buggy was not designed to stand upright when folded. Besides, its folded height makes it uncomfortable to drag around – carrying is the only solution.

– Flimsy parent & child trays

The parent and the child trays present on LiteRider LX aren’t as well made as the rest of the stroller. This is particularly true for the cup holders located on them – they’re quite shallow and can’t hold larger drinks.

Conclusion

All in all, this lightweight stroller is a great option for all parents who need a basic, easy-to-move stroller with a comfortable seat for their child. It is undoubtedly an improvement over the standard LiteRider model, and the few minor flaws that it has will probably be corrected in the next iteration.

The fact that the LiteRider LX is highly affordable is yet another advantage – it should be your top contender if you’re on a tight budget.
