It’s pretty safe to say that breastfeeding can be downright exhausting. One of the least-fun parts of being a mother is getting up in the middle of the night to feed the baby, especially if you have to do it multiple times. It’s even worse if you’re a working mom of two – you just don’t get enough sleep but still have to wake up early for work.

Fortunately, there’s a simple solution to this issue – co-sleeping. In simple terms, it means letting the infants sleep in your bedroom, right next to your bed. And this is precisely where bedside sleepers, or twin bassinets, come in. They introduce benefits such as ease of feeding, increased bonding, and a greater sense of closeness – the baby is always within your arm’s reach.

The Arm’s Reach Ideal Co-Sleeper is very popular among parents of twins, as it is large enough to provide enough space for two babies at once. With benefits such as stylish design, ease of moving between rooms, as well as the inclusion of a removable and washable liner, it’s no wonder that the model is one of the company’s best-sellers.

In the following paragraphs, we’ll be analyzing each of its features – keep on reading and find out if this is the right sleeper for your needs.

Specifications:

  • Weight – 30.8 lbs

  • Weight limit  – 30 lbs (combined)

  • Dimensions   – 33″ x 11″ x 11″

  • Age limit –  0 to 5 months

Features

Design

Made out of plastic and mesh-like materials, the Arm’s Reach Ideal Co-Sleeper features a design that is quite similar to that of the other twin bassinets available on the market. With the dimensions of 33″ x 11″ x 11″ and the overall weight of 30.8 pounds, it’s a bit larger than the standard products of this type. However, the model is still exceptionally portable and easy to move from one room to another.

The model’s size also adds to its sturdiness and durability. The overall build quality is quite satisfying, and the bassinet does not look or feel flimsy like some of the cheaper sleepers we’ve had the chance to review so far.

Build Quality

One of the first things to notice about this bassinet is the quality of its parts. Once taken out of the box and assembled, the model looks well-made and quite sturdy. We were especially pleased to see the quilted fabric which wraps around the whole sleeper – it’s of high quality and super-soft, too.

Sleeping systems similar to this one typically don’t feature this kind of fabric to cover their hard plastic parts, so this is a pretty useful bonus. In other words, you won’t have to worry about hitting your hands on the hard plastic in complete darkness and ending up with bruises.

Three Modes of Use

This twin bassinet can be used in three different modes – as a bedside co-sleeper, as a freestanding bassinet, and as a play-yard. As you can already guess, this turns the Arm’s Reach Ideal Co-Sleeper into one of the most versatile products of this type currently available on the market.

Switching between these modes is exceptionally easy – it can be done under a minute. Moreover, the option to convert this model into a play-yard can make it very useful later on, and also allow a parent to use it for quite some time after the newborn stage.

Strap & Plate System

This twin bassinet comes with a unique strap & plate system. It slides between the box spring and the mattress of the parent’s bed and tightly secures the sleeper to the bed. It’s one of the safest solutions of this kind we’ve seen so far and something we’d like to see implemented on models manufactured by other companies.

Storage Pockets

Another useful feature of the Arm’s Reach Ideal Co-Sleeper is the addition of storage pockets. They are situated on both sides and span almost the whole width of the model. Made out of mesh material, they are very convenient when it comes to storing various baby necessities, such as clothes, toys, and bottles.

Ease of Cleaning

As we already said, this sleeper comes with a liner that is both removable and washable. Parents of messier babies will undoubtedly appreciate this feature – you can simply take the coating down and put it inside your washing machine. Not only does this make keeping the bassinet clean exceptionally easy, but it also helps with the resell value if you ever decide to sell it.

Accessories

Along with the twin bassinet itself, the package also includes a mattress, a nylon strap & plate, a fitted sheet, as well as the convenient travel bag. These accessories raise the value of the whole deal and turn it into an even more attractive option.

What’s wrong with the product?

-You may need to purchase the leg extension

Unfortunately, this twin bassinet does not work well with all types of beds. The model was made for beds whose heights start at 24″. In case your bed is slightly taller than this, you will have to buy leg extensions from the manufacturer’s website ($24).

-The included mattress is not of the best quality

The mattress that’s included in the package could have been of better quality. It is thin and somewhat flimsy and is probably the only serious downside of the whole deal.

Conclusion

Those looking for a well-built twin bassinet that they’ll be able to use for a long time should definitely consider this model for purchase. It’s one of the most versatile sleepers we’ve seen so far and something that can be of great use to parents of multiples.

Not only can this sleeper be used in three different modes, but it can also be attached to the bed to keep the baby close to its parent. It also has convenient storage pockets and is very easy to keep clean. With these and other qualities, it’s an excellent choice and a bassinet you won’t regret buying.
